Annual Cobbler Sales
In 2019 Soroptimist International of Woodland started our first ever cobbler sales fundraiser with Carrousel Cobblers. Carrousel Cobblers are homemade by local mother and daughter team, Laura Reynolds and Michelle Paschke. They are well known in Woodland for their amazing cobblers, and when you taste one you will know why. In 2019 the flavors were berry, apple, and peach. We still have a debate in the club on which was the best.
All money raised from cobbler sales goes into our general fund which helps our club run and continue to do great work within the community.
The fundraising will starts mid October each year with orders being due the first week of November. Delivery is right before Thanksgiving, making it the perfect Thanksgiving dessert!
Cobblers are sold for $20 each, with our club receiving 50% of each sale for our general fund. All checks should be made out to SI Woodland.
Groovin' at Matchbook
Soroptimist International of Woodland hosted its first fundraising concert and wine tasting event at Matchbook Winery in October 2019, called Groovin' at Matchbook. Appetizers were provided by Anderson Catering, with Grooveline supplying the music for over 100 attendees. Attendees received a wine flight and appetizers with their ticket and additional bottles of wine were available for purchase.
We also held a silent auction, with proceeds from the event directly benefiting our Stop Trafficking program, which provides much needed supplies to fill backpacks that are given to human trafficking victims, among other programs.
This will become an annual fundraising event for our club, raising funds for our various programs. While it is likely that an event will not occur in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are hopeful to be able to hold the next event soon.
Winefest and Wine Socks
Soroptimist International of Woodland has been hosting Winefest for the past several years each spring in Heritage Plaza in Woodland, CA. 2020 would have been our 5th Annual event. The event provides tastings of local wines, local craft beer, honey, olive oil, cheese, and chocolate tastings. We also have works by local artists available for sale.
However, 2020 changed our plans, and therefore this year we have shifted to a Wine Socks fundraiser. All proceeds will directly support the club's programs and service projects. These beautifully packaged sets of socks are a unique, limited edition, designed specifically for Soroptimist International of Woodland.
We anxiously await the time when we can host Winefest again. Stay tuned.
